Continuing in The Word
John 8:31

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;” John 8:31 NASB

Believing in Jesus is only the beginning of a life of abiding in Christ. A true disciple must continue to follow Jesus by continuing in His Word, learning from Him, and obeying His Word. A disciple will be a lifelong learner, diligently studying the Bible, digging deep into God’s Word, consistently living and abiding in the Word, letting it fill and consume his life. He needs to read, study, meditate, memorize, and apply the Word. Continuing in the Word will lead the believer to be obedient to the Word.

Lord Jesus, fill my life with Your Word, the Bible, so that I will be faithful and obedient in following You, bringing You honor and glory.
