“Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses, For they have been from of old.” Psalm 25:6 NASB

David’s pleas, previously for guidance and upcoming for forgiveness, were based on God’s great character attributes of mercy and love. David reminds God to see him through the eyes of love. God’s nature is one of great compassion, tender mercies, faithful lovingkindness, and steadfast love. God has always been a loving God. Even before creation existed, God’s holy and righteous character was based on love and mercy.

Lord Jesus, it is because of Your great love and mercy that I have forgiveness of my sins and instruction and guidance for daily living. Let Your love and mercy flow through me to touch the lives of others.
