“Look upon my enemies, for they are many, And they hate me with violent hatred.” Psalm 25:19 NASB

Surrounded by enemies who not only hated him, but hated him with a violent hatred, David cries out to God to defend him. These enemies not only opposed David, they were after blood. They were like a ravenous wolf pack circling their prey looking for the smallest weak spot to attack and kill. Overwhelmed by numerous enemies with such cruel and fierce hatred, God’s servant David pleads for God, his only protector, to take notice, guard his life, and defend him.

Lord Jesus, this world, consumed with violent hatred, is opposed to You, Your Word, and Your servants. Strengthen me to stand firm, upholding Your truth.
