“Consider my affliction and trouble, and forgive all my sins.” Psalm 25:18 CSB

In repetitive cries, David earnestly pleads for God’s grace and mercy to flow over him. The pain of his circumstances with their afflictions and troubles has engulfed him. He yearns for God to look at him and consider his case. The agony of his sinfulness adds to this pain, therefore he yearns for God’s forgiveness and cleansing. Often in one’s darkest moments of despair, one’s own sinfulness magnifies the pain. In his agony, David turns to God, the only One who can help and comfort.

Lord Jesus, the afflictions and troubles of this world added to my own sins bring despair and pain. Yet You bring forgiveness, comfort, direction, and guidance through Your grace, mercy, and love.
