“Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 NASB

Jesus encouraged believers to persistently seek God's help through prayer. The three verbs-ask, seek, and knock- are present tense and describe a continuing action. The believer is to ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, and knock and keep on knocking. God responds to the believer’s persistent prayers in the present as the believer asks and receives, seeks and finds, and in the future as the believer knocks, it shall be opened.

Lord Jesus, help me to pray persistently using discernment to ask according to Your will. Thank you for answering and providing what is necessary for me to be obedient to Your Word now and in the future.
