“But let your statement be, 'Yes, yes' or 'No, no'; and anything beyond these is of evil.” Matthew 5:37 NASB

Do people believe what you say? When you tell them you will do something, do you do it? Are you a person that keeps his word? Jesus taught that a righteous person’s word was enough; no vow or oath was needed. A simple yes or no was sufficient. The righteous person was a person of integrity. His word was honest and true. His reputation was well earned, for righteousness goes beyond action to attitude and character. His character was truthful and dependable.

Lord Jesus, help me to be a person of integrity and honesty. I desire to live a righteous life that glorifies and honors You.
