“To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:79 KJV

Zacharias prophesied about Jesus the Christ, who was soon to be born and bring light and peace to a dark world. The darkness of evil had filled the world with sin, grief, hate, anger, fear, discouragement, despair, and destruction that leads to death. Jesus the Christ would come to bring light to this dark world. He would guide people to find peace, hope, and joy. Jesus would save the people from the darkness of their sins and bring them into the glorious light of eternal, everlasting life.

Lord Jesus, as we celebrate Christmas, let us remember and be thankful for Your great light that still shines in our dark world. As we move into a new year, let us share this light with others so they can know You and find peace, hope, joy, and eternal life.
