“And at once his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he began to speak in praise of God.” Luke 1:64 NASB

As a result of his encounter with the angel, Zacharias was unable to speak. When Elizabeth bore him a son, Zacharias obeyed God and named him John. Immediately upon his obedience to God’s commands, Zacharias regained his voice and spoke praises to God. He worshiped God and prophesied, telling of the redemption and salvation that was to come through Christ the Lord. Likewise, a life-changing encounter with God will lead us to obediently follow Him and to worship and praise the Lord God.

Lord Jesus, the desire of my heart is to be obedient to Your commands. I lift my voice to tell of Your salvation and to give You honor, glory, and praise.
