“This is My command: love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12 HCSB

To abide in Christ one must obey Him. He gave the command, and the disciple must follow. Jesus gave the order, but He also showed the disciples how to obey it. Jesus gave the disciples the example to follow. As Jesus loved them, they are to love one another. Christ’s love is characterized by giving of one’s self so the other person can be his best. A characteristic of a disciple is a deep love and concern for others just as Jesus had.

Lord Jesus, Your love is amazing. Help me to love others just like You did.
