“I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.” John 15:11 HCSB

The result of abiding in Christ, bearing fruit for Him, loving Him and others, and obeying Him, is joy. Christ’s joy completely fills one’s life. This joy is not based on circumstances. It is an inner joy and peace that comes no matter what one is facing. Jesus said these words in His final discourse before facing the Cross. Yet, He was filled with joy that comes from a right relationship with God.

Lord Jesus, I long to be completely filled with Your joy. Help me to abide in You, lovingly and obediently following You this day.
