“Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:7c-8 NASB

Life is fleeting. God is forever. Eternal! Just as the grass withers and the flower quickly fades, a person’s life and influence is short and feeble, and then it fades. God and His word however will remain strong forever. He is dependable, faithful, and trustworthy. He is immutable. God never changes. His word, His truth, will remain forever. Isaiah cries out to a distressed, discouraged, and downtrodden people to have hope and be comforted because the Almighty Lord God will stand forever.

Lord Jesus, my trials and troubles are only momentary in comparison to Your eternal glory. As I trust what Your Word, the Bible, proclaims, in You I find hope and comfort.
