Incompatibility
Ephesians 5:5

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” Ephesians 5:5 ESV

A habitual lifestyle that is consumed with sexual immorality, impurity, or covetousness is incongruent and incompatible with the lifestyle of a believer in the kingdom of Christ. A follower of Jesus is commanded to live a holy and pure lifestyle that honors and glorifies God. The characteristics of the old sinful nature must be put aside and removed from the new life of a believer in Christ. To consistently and persistently remain in the old sinful lifestyle demonstrates a lack of identification and possession of a new life in Christ.

Lord Jesus, may my life be righteous and pure, and may I glorify and honor God in all that I do.
