Ephesians 5:17
The Upward Look

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:17 ESV
The believer’s daily walk, his life, is not to be foolish, senselessly living, just existing, unthinking and unconcerned. He is to walk carefully with understanding, awareness, and insight, doing the will of the Lord. God’s will is not some mystical idea or experience. It is found in His Word, the Bible. The believer is to spend time digging deep into God’s Word, intellectually discerning and comprehending what God desires. Then he must apply that knowledge by transforming his mind and actions in obedience to God’s Word and will.
Lord Jesus, help me to understand Your Word and to obey the Word. May my every thought and deed be in line with Your will and bring You glory.
