Christ Above All
Ephesians 1:21

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:21 HCSB

God’s surpassing great power exalted Jesus Christ, seating Him on a throne and reigning above all beings, both in the present age and the age to come. The list of terms in this verse seems to denote a hierarchy of either human or spiritual beings, or both. These beings, no matter their title or perceived power, all pale in comparison to the greatness of the Sovereignty of Christ Jesus. He is far greater than all other rulers, principalities, and dominions. Christ is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.

Lord Jesus, one day every knee will bow and tongue confess that You are Lord. I bow this day and yield my allegiance, my life, and my all to Your Lordship.
