“They have told the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.” 3 John 6 NIV

Those believers, who had previously stayed at the home of Gaius, had given testimony to the church where John was serving. They told how hospitable Gaius had been and how he showed God’s love toward them. Now John was encouraging Gaius to continue to help and support these traveling teachers, preachers, and missionaries. Gaius was to help them in a manner that pleased God because they were doing God’s work. Supporting and helping preachers and missionaries is also doing God’s work and thus needs to be done in a manner that pleases God.

Lord Jesus, thank You for all who support and do Your work. Help me to be supportive and encourage others by showing Your love through my words and actions.
