“Demetrius has a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. And we also testify for him, and you know that our testimony is true.” 3 John 12 HCSB

John commends the man named Demetrius as having a good reputation. He has earned this good testimony from all who know him. His character is one that demonstrates God’s truth. He has faithfully lived his life holding steadfast to the truth. Not much is known about Demetrius. He seems to be one of the many unsung heroes of the faith who followed Jesus and lived a decent and honorable life. Other people, including the Apostle John, respected him as being a dependable follower of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I pray that others would be able to say that I have a good reputation as one who follows You. Help me to build my character by being obedient to Your commands.
