“Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own stable position.” 2 Peter 3:17 CSB

As Peter concludes this letter, he summarizes his main point. He urges his beloved friends to be on guard, to be carefully watching, and to be cautious and alert. As he has already stated, false teachers and lawless people will try to draw them away from the solid and stable foundation of Jesus Christ and from the truths of the Word of God. Thus Peter entreats the believers to stand firm on the Word of God and not to succumb to the pressures of this evil world.

Lord Jesus, help me to resist the evil desires of this world. I desire to live every day firmly grounded in Your Word, the Bible.
