“Of them the proverbs are true: ‘A dog returns to its vomit,’ and, ‘A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.’” 2 Peter 2:22 NIV

A person’s true nature and character will be seen in his actions. People may “clean-up” nicely and even “look good” at church on Sunday. Yet they will return to their sinful and evil ways as soon as they are out of the building. They never had a life-changing experience with Jesus. They never repented and accepted His saving forgiveness. They never surrendered their life to His Lordship. Though the pig had been “cleaned-up” on the outside, its nature remained a pig, and it soon returned to the muddy pigpen.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful that You changed my life, for You cleaned me up and gave me a new life and a new nature. I am thankful for this salvation and for eternal life.
