“For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” 2 Peter 1:21 NASB

The Holy Spirit moved the men to write God’s Word, the Bible. The word “moved” is the same word used for a sailing ship being moved by the wind. The wind of God’s Spirit inspired, breathed into the writers, what He desired them to write. While God allowed the personality of the writer to come through, what was written was what God wanted written. The Bible is God’s Word, written by men, to reveal God to us.

Lord Jesus, Your Word, the Bible, teaches me about You and what You have done to provide forgiveness, salvation, and life for me. Guide me to understand and obey Your Word.
