“Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble.” 2 Peter 1:10 NASB

Therefore because of God’s grace and power as well as the believer’s diligence and desire to grow in the life of faith, the believer can be assured of his salvation, having been called and chosen by God. Salvation is a life-changing event and relationship with Jesus Christ. The salvation God provides is evident in the life of a believer by an increasing of the virtues and characteristics of the life of faith which Peter listed in the preceding verses. A growing and living faith will keep the believer from stumbling and forsaking God’s ways or being tripped up and ruined by the false teachings or immoral lifestyles.

Lord Jesus, by Your grace I am saved. I desire to grow in my life with You by living a holy and godly life of obedience to Your Word.
