“Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.” 2 John 8 NASB

Look out, be careful, take heed! John is crying out that the believers urgently watch out for the false teachers who will try to deceive them. False teachers do not go around with a sign over them that says “false teacher.” Most false teachers come, as it were, as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. John is warning the believers to be on their guard, judging what they are being taught by God’s Word. Believers who are led astray by false teaching will not receive their full reward. This “reward” may be growing spiritually to full maturity, or rewards given at the final judgment.

Lord Jesus, help me to persevere in following You and not to stray from Your teachings. Help me to grow in my faith and my daily walk with You so that my life will honor and glorify You.
