“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV

Another training exercise or discipline the believer must practice to become spiritually fit is giving. Scripture teaches that a disciple is to give of his time, ability, and finances to provide the resources for God’s Kingdom work and for others in need. The amount of time or money the disciple gives must not be forced by anyone or given grudgingly but must be given with a sincere heart full of love and compassion.

Lord Jesus, I give back to you some of what You have given me. I give out of gratitude, love, and a desire to see Your Kingdom work done.
