“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time.” 1 Peter 5:6 HCSB

Peter strongly exhorts the believers to humble themselves. Human nature would normally cause one to be proud, full of self worth, and selfish desires. Believers must put aside self and seek God’s will above their own. We are to submit to God’s power, placing oneself under His control, wishes, care, and protection. Though believers may be facing troubles and persecution, we must humbly and patiently wait for God’s time. God will exalt the humble in His time whether that is in this life or in eternity.

Lord Jesus, help to live this day expressing my faith in You by humbly showing Your love, grace, and mercy to others. Help me to wait patiently submitting to Your will.
