“By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.” 1 John 4:13 NASB

When one places his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, God’s Holy Spirit comes to indwell within the believer. One knows for certain that he has this relationship with God because the Holy Spirit abides in him. The Holy Spirit is the deposit guaranteeing eternal life for the believer. The Holy Spirit produces fruit in the life of the believer including the fruit of love. Believers love one another because the Holy Spirit is in them and is guiding them to love like Jesus loves.

Lord Jesus, help me to be attentive to Your Holy Spirit leading me each day. Help me this day to follow that leading by expressing Your love in my words and deeds.
