“Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.” 1 John 3:4 NASB

With no exceptions, everyone is included: all who practice sin, not a single act but a continual, willful, habitual practice of sin, are lawless. Sin is missing the mark, not living up to the standard God has set. Lawlessness is a rebellious, flagrant defiance of God and His standards. It is living “like the devil.” Lawlessness is living as if God’s law does not exist, setting one’s own standard.

Lord Jesus, help me to live a life of righteousness, not rebellion. I want to live by Your standards set down in Your Word, the Bible.
