1 John 3:16

“We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” 1 John 3:16 NASB
We are aware of what real love is because of the supreme example of love, Jesus’ voluntary, sacrificial death on the cross to pay the price for our sins. This knowledge of the true meaning of love must continue to impact our lives daily. Just as Christ gave His life, we are to give our lives in self-sacrifice. The believer is under an obligation, a debt, to demonstrate this principle of self-giving love.
Lord Jesus, help me to pattern my life after Your love. I dedicate my life to sacrificial love and service to others.
