“I have written these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you.” 1 John 2:26 HCSB

The false teachers were trying to deceive and mislead the believers. The goal of these deceivers was to lead the believers astray, away from the true gospel of Jesus. They wanted to lead them away from the truths that John and others had taught and that John was emphasizing in his writings. Today, many false teachers are trying to lead people away from Jesus and the Bible. They teach from their own knowledge and wisdom. Some even use parts of the Bible to deceive and mislead.

Lord Jesus, what a wonderful and abundant life I have with You! Teach me how to live each day in a deepening relationship with You.
