“Go and tell David My servant, 'Thus says the LORD, "You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in.” 1 Chronicles 17:4 HCSB

Having heard from God, Nathan was to go and tell David, God’s faithful servant, what God had declared. David had plans to honor and glorify God by building a magnificent house of worship, a temple worthy of the Almighty God. While this was a good idea, it was not God’s plan for David. Even today we may have good plans, even what we perceive as great ideas, yet they are not always the will of God. Disciples often must choose between what is good and what is best, which is God’s will.

Lord Jesus, help me to make the right decisions in following You. Give me insights from Your Word and a discerning spirit to obey Your will.
