“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12 NASB

The Children of Israel were indeed blessed because they worshiped and served the one true God. All the other nations around them trusted in false gods. Yet, they trusted in the Lord God, and He prospered and protected them. When they sinned and turned away from God, He disciplined them. He even allowed the heathen nations to conquer them. God desired for them to repent and return to worshiping Him alone.

Lord Jesus, I pray for my country for You have greatly blessed us, yet we have sinned and turned away from you. Help us to repent and return to You the one true Lord God.
