Coping in a Crazy World

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
   Philippians 4:6 HCSB ©

With the world a crazy place to live and with bad news everywhere, it is easy to fall prey to worry. Agonizing over cares and concerns denotes self-reliance and thus a lack of faith and trust in God. Paul, however, gives believers a way out of the gloom and despair of this world’s troubles. We are told to take every concern or thought, big or little, to God in prayer. Worshiping and adoring God as well as seeking His guidance for our concerns demonstrates faith and trust in God. This trust in God leads to a heart of gratitude and thankfulness for all God has done and will do.

Lord Jesus, with the pressures of this world crushing in around me, I turn to You for strength and guidance. Even in the midst of trials and tribulations, I am thankful for Your love and care.
