“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
   Matthew 5:9 NASB ©

Many people see a peacemaker as one who passively accepts whatever happens in order to avoid all confrontations. This attitude of appeasement and “peace at any cost” is not what the seventh Beatitude describes. Instead, a disciple is a peacemaker who stands up for what is right in God’s sight. He seeks to bring others around to God’s viewpoint and righteous ways. This peacemaker is actively involved in confronting problems and seeking a peaceful resolution by leading all parties to seek God and His righteousness. The result of being a peacemaker is that the disciple will be called a child of God.

Lord Jesus, You brought peace by reconciling sinful man with holy God through Your death on the cross. Help me to exhibit Your loving nature by leading others to peace with God.
