“So I will bless Thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy name.” Psalm 63:4 NASB

Because of God’s great, steadfast love, David said he would bless and praise God all the days of his life. It did not matter that David was fleeing into the wilderness to save his life. He would still praise the Lord. The circumstances of life do not change who God is, nor the fact that we are to praise and thank Him. David followed the Jewish custom of praying with his face and hands lifted up to heaven. With outstretched arms a child reaches out to his loving father to be picked up and hugged. We, too, can reach out to our loving God.

Lord Jesus, You are worthy of our praise and honor. No matter what I face this day, let my life be filled with praise to You my Savior, Redeemer, Refuge, Strength, and Lord!
