“The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7 NASB

In the first of six descriptions, David calls God’s Word the law, the instruction, the teachings of the Lord. It is perfectly able and completely sufficient to restore, renew, and revive the soul. Next, David describes Scripture as the testimony or witness of the Lord that is sure, trustworthy, and immovable. God’s Word does not change or vacillate like shifting sands moved by the winds and surf of culture and society. God’s consistent Word can make the simple or inexperienced person wise.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed by how God’s Word can transform a sinful person into a righteous person through the mighty work of Christ. Help me to learn and obey Your Word in my life.
