“Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward.” Psalm 19:11 NASB

David describes two tasks of God’s Word. First, it warns the believer, leading him away from sin and trouble. To warn is to make known, to shine a light on, or to instruct, teach, and guide. The believer is guided to avoid the danger that sin brings. Second, when obeyed God’s Word brings great reward and blessings. God will reward the faithful servant in ways that may be beyond our comprehension, like the peace He gives us even in the midst of the storm. Blessed is the person who obeys God.

Lord Jesus, instruct me through Your Word, the Bible. Guide my steps so that I may be an obedient servant who is blessed by You.
