“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11 KJV

Joy drives out fear because a baby was born who is the Savior, the Christ, the Lord. As Savior He is the one who saves us from our sin and death. He takes our place and receives the punishment for our sin. He redeems us, paying the price for our sin on the cross. As Christ He is God’s anointed and promised Messiah who came to deliver us from our slavery to sin. As Lord He is the Holy God, the righteous and eternal one, who has all authority and power to rule over us. We are to revere Him and bow before Him as the King and Master of our lives.

Lord Jesus, I humbly bow before You my Savior, my God. Help me to tell others about Your birth and how they can have the joy of knowing You as Savior and Lord.
