Abiding in His Word

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples.”
   John 8:31 HCSB ©

Jesus stated that those who are really His disciples would be continuing, or abiding, in His word. The believer needs to be diligent in the study of the Bible. The disciple must dig deep into God’s Word letting it fill his life. He needs to read, study, meditate, memorize, and apply it. He must know the Word and be obedient to the Word.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful for Your Word, the Bible. Help me this day to learn from its pages and to be obedient to Your commands.
