“Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 1:9 NASB

God commissions His prophet by reaching out and touching Jeremiah’s mouth. Symbolically God was overcoming Jeremiah’s excuse of his inability to speak by giving him the words to proclaim. Just as it was important that Jeremiah be filled with God’s Word, we too must fill our lives with God’s Word. We must read, study, and obey the Bible. The way to truly live for Christ is to be consumed by His Word.

Lord Jesus, fill me with a desire to read, understand, and obey Your Word, the Bible. Help me to share Your Word with others so that they can know You and Your mercy, grace, and love.
