Beginning Anew

“In the beginning God.”
   Genesis 1:1 NASB ©

Before anything was in existence, God was! God was and is and always will be first and foremost! Paul writes in Colossians that in all things He shall have preeminence. God is to have first place in our lives. As a new year begins, we often think of new beginnings, of starting things afresh and anew. It is important to recognize God and His priority in our lives. Will you resolve in this new year to give God His rightful place as Sovereign Lord of your life? Will you resolve to daily read and obey His Word, the Bible? Will you resolve to have weekly fellowship with other believers in His church?

Lord Jesus, You are my Savior, my Lord, and my King. I resolve anew to place You first in my life by obediently following Your commands.
