“But when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, in order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
   Galatians 4:4-5 NASB

At the appropriate time, when the conditions in the world were right, God sent His Son to earth. Jesus was Emmanuel, God with us, God in human form. Jesus was fully God and yet fully human, born of a woman. Jesus was born under the Law that condemned mankind because of sin. Jesus the Savior was born to redeem mankind, to pay the price for man’s sin by His death on the Cross. Jesus was born so that those who trust in Him would become children of God.

Lord Jesus, as we celebrate Christmas we think of You as a Baby born in a Manger. Let us not forget that You were born to die on the Cross to provide us forgiveness and eternal life.
