Forgiven
Ephesians 1:7b

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7 NASB

Recognizing that all people have sinned, Paul uses the word “trespasses” which means taking a false step or straying from the path of righteousness and purity. This transgression or offence is against God and His law. The Bible teaches that the consequence and result of sin is death, separation from God in eternal agony and torment. However, people who are in Christ have been redeemed through His blood and have had their sins forgiven. Because the debt has been paid by Christ, believers have been set free of the penalty of sin!

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner saved by grace through faith in the atoning sacrifice of the blood of Christ. Because I am forgiven, I lift my voice and give my life in praise to You.
