Adopted In Love
Ephesians 1:5

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“In love He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will,” Ephesians 1:4c-5 HCSB

Because of His great love and grace, God predestined, determined beforehand, to adopt into His family those who place their trust solely in Jesus as Savior and Lord. God, in His gracious favor, delight, pleasure, and will, planned to save and redeem sinful people through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus. He chose to save rebellious sinful people and adopt them into His family, not because of anything the person did, but because God is rich and overflowing in love, mercy, and grace.

Lord God, I am amazed at Your great love and humbled that You would desire to adopt me and call me a child of God. I am Your child solely through Jesus, my Savior.
