God In Eternity Past
Ephesians 1:4a

The Upward Look
    by Max D. Hutto,

“For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love” Ephesians 1:4 HCSB

Continuing this great doxological passage of adoration and praise, Paul is overwhelmed with God’s eternal greatness, grace, and love. What an amazing thought that in eternity past, before the universe was ever created, God chose us to be in Christ. God’s great love is demonstrated in His gracious desire and plan to provide redemption for sinful, rebellious humans. God chose us to be in Christ, to be forgiven of our sinfulness, and to be made blameless and holy in Christ, even before He created the world.

Lord God, I am overwhelmed by Your grace displayed in all of eternity, that You would choose to save me through Christ. I bow to honor You, the great Sovereign Lord.
