“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2 NASB

The believer is to be a person who prays. The believer must spend time each day in prayer as well as continue all day in an attitude of prayer. All day there must be close fellowship with God so that every thought and action will be guided by communication with God. Just like a sentry guard is to watch and keep alert, the believer is to persevere in the task of prayer. All prayer is done with an attitude of thankfulness to God.

Lord Jesus, develop in me a life of prayer. I am grateful for the fellowship I have with You and for Your guiding me every moment.
