John expresses his desire to see Gaius in person. While writing a letter is a good way to communicate, it is much better to be able to talk back and forth while looking at the other person. John wanted to quickly do just that with his dear friends. John prays that his friends will have peace. Peace is a common Jewish greeting and blessing for wholeness of life. Peace is also the result of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. John concludes this letter with an expression of greetings from those friends who are with him to those who are with Gaius.

Lord Jesus, I am grateful for friends with whom I can talk. Help me to share Your great blessings of peace and love with my friends.
