“But based on His promise, we wait for the new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell.” 2 Peter 3:13 HCSB
Judgment Day, with its destruction of evil and the world, is not the end. What happens next? Scripture declares that there will be new heavens and a new earth. What will this new world be like? Peter declares that it will be a place where righteousness will dwell. It will be a place where God’s truth, holiness, and purity will be lived out. In these new heavens and new earth God will reign as Sovereign King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Lord Jesus, with this world so full of evil, I look forward, yearning for the time when righteousness will be victorious. Help me to share with others how they can be a part of Your coming kingdom.
