“Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness.” 2 Peter 3:11 HCSB

Noting that the Day of the Lord will come, bringing judgment upon the ungodly and the world, Peter describes how believers are to act. The consistent daily life of a believer should portray holiness and godliness. It is a lifestyle of purity, devoted to living according to God’s commands. It is a lifestyle that demonstrates God’s character through all its actions. God’s holiness, purity, justice, righteousness, grace, mercy, and love should shine through all that the believer does.

Lord Jesus, direct my life so that my conduct would be pleasing and glorifying to You. Help me be pure, leaving sinfulness behind, and living by Your standards of grace and love.
