“Especially those who follow the polluting desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold, arrogant people! They do not tremble when they blaspheme the glorious ones.” 2 Peter 2:10 HCSB

Reflecting on the day of judgment when God will punish the wicked, Peter describes the false teachers who were deceiving the believers. Their ungodly lives were filled with polluting and corrupting sensual desires and sexual perversions. They despised all authority, wanting things done their own way. In their rebellious ways, they even vehemently refused to submit to God’s authority. They were bold and arrogant people who had no fear of saying anything about anyone, even spiritual beings.

Lord Jesus, today’s culture is also filled with the same corrupt and vile people who will face the day of judgment. Help me to speak out about the need to change, to repent, and to submit to Your authority and rule.
