“Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.” 2 Peter 1:12 NASB

Peter wrote to remind the believers of the basics of the faith. The believers knew the truths of the gospel. They knew that they needed to be growing in their faith by living pure and holy lives. They knew they needed to stand firm in the faith against the false teachers who perverted the gospel. Yet even for those who are firmly grounded and established in the faith, it is important to be reminded of the basic and simple truths of God’s Word.

Lord Jesus, keep me from becoming complacent and apathetic by refreshing my mind with the basics of the gospel and faith. Help me to continue to learn and grow as I remember the truths found in Your Word, the Bible.
