“Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.” 2 John 3 NASB

John extends the customary greeting with a distinctly Christian emphasis. The greeting is more than just a prayer, it is a confident statement of faith in what God has done and will continue to do. “Grace” is God giving unmerited and undeserved favor to the believers. “Mercy” is God with compassion and pity not giving out the punishment we deserve. “Peace” is a complete well-being in life that includes composure no matter what the circumstances of life. This all comes from God, the Father and the Son. This statement puts Jesus on equal footing with God the Father showing His deity. This grace, mercy, and peace comes based on the truth and full of love.

Lord Jesus, fill my life with Your grace, mercy, and peace. Then I can share Your great truth and love with all those around me.
