“For the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.” 2 John 11 NASB

The “him” in this verse refers to the person who comes to the believer and yet does not teach the truth of Jesus. This false teacher does not believe in the truth that Jesus is the Son of God and the only Savior for mankind. John is giving a warning to believers to be very careful about whom they give encouragement and support. Believers must not give the false teacher a platform to speak his evil. If a believer supports a false teacher, he shares and even partners with his evil, wicked work.

Lord Jesus, give me discernment so that I will not follow someone who speaks false doctrine. Give me strength of convictions so that I will not compromise what You teach in the Bible.
